Lullabies and Mudpies Consignment Sale

Lullabies and Mudpies is a local consignment sale that serves Pace, Milton and Pensacola.  I must admit that I have never been to this particular consignment sale.  I have been to others around town, but haven’t made it to Lullabies and Mudpies.  Today, I have been scurrying around the house trying to find items that I can donate in this sale.  I just heard about this sale today from a friend and it was the last day to get your items ready for consignment.  Even though you may have missed out on consigning your own items, be sure to stop by for the shopping experience.  For this special December event, Lullabies and Mudpies is accepting toys, women’s, boy’s and girl’s clothing, Christmas decorations and so much more!

Entrance to the sale is always free but this year they are accepting donations of canned goods for the local food pantry.  I think it is awesome anytime a donation goes towards supporting our own community.

The schedule is as follows (according to the website):

Open to the Public:

December 5-12 (closed the 6th and 7th)

Saturday, December 5, 9:00 am-7:00 pm

Tuesday, December 8, 9:00 am-7:00 pm

Wednesday, December 9, 9:00 am-5:00 pm

Thursday, December 10 (NEW ITEMS), 9:00 am-7:00 pm

Friday, December 11, 9:00 am-7:00 pm

Saturday, December 12 (many items 50% off), 9:00 am-3:00 pm

When the sale is all over, I will post my experience as both a consigner and a shopper!  If you have a positive experience with Lullabies and Mudpies and would like to share them here with us, feel free to leave a comment in this post!

Be sure to check the website for more details.  Lullabies and Mudpies is held at the warehouse next door to Helping Hands Thriftstore on Highway 90 in Pace across from Chilis and Target.

Living Sensation Gymnastics-Pace, Florida

**Living Sensation no longer has Open Play Time.  See their sister gym, In Motion, for open play time and birthday parties.**

livingsensation1 (Small)

A little while ago, I wrote about the grand opening event at Living Sensation in Pace, Florida.  We finally made it there the other day for their toddler play time.  Living Sensation offers toddler and open gym time, cheer, gymnastics, and dance classes.  They also put on birthday parties and Parent’s Night out events.

livingsensation (Small)

Toddler Playtime is a great way to spend a rainy morning and we have had a lot of those this season!  There are all sorts of activities for the little ones-tumbling, rings, rope climbing, running, jumping, bouncing and more.  Little S had a great time running around with her buddies.  Her favorite part of the whole morning was all the jumping off of things and bouncing on the track.  There is great kid-friendly music playing while the kids run around.  Parents are encouraged to play with their children but there is also a small area where you can sit and watch your little ones play.  The cost for Toddler Playtime is $6.00 for crawling children up to 6 years of age.  The schedule is available on the website but as of today the hours are listed as Tuesdays 10am-12noon and Wednesdays 10am-12noon.

Things to Know Before You Go:

  • Bring cash or check.  They are not set up to take credit cards and if you do not have cash/check you will have to head to the nearest ATM.
  • If you have a crawler, they will be charged the $6.00.  The cost is $6.00 for children from crawling to 6yo.

Living Sensation is located at 4360 FloridaTown Road in Pace, Florida and the phone number is 850.994.6450.

Oops Alley – Pace, Florida

This weekend we headed to Oops Alley for the first time.  The kids have been bowling before, but it was several months ago so Little S wasn’t really into it.  Well, that all changed on this bowling trip!

oops3-small

We had so much fun!  It wasn’t crowded so we got a lane right away.  You can play up to 8 people per lane.  One of the best things about Oops Alley is the bumpers!  When you are typing in the names of the players, be sure to check the Bumpers box for those little ones (or big ones!) that need bumpers.  During the game when their turn comes up, the bumpers pop up out of the ground!  Oops Alley has ramps for the children as well that makes getting the ball to the pins much easier for them!

Things to Know Before You Go:

  • Cosmic Bowling starts at 7pm on Friday and Saturday nights so bowling was a bit pricier than we anticipated.
  • Check the web for coupons before you go.  There are coupons available right now on the ValPak website for a buy one hour, get one hour of bowling free.  Get the coupon here.  The current coupon expires on 9/27/09.
  • Bring a few extra bucks if your kids love arcade games.  There is a great arcade attached to the bowling alley.
  • We ate before we went, but the food surrounding us actually looked good!  Take a look at the menu and prices before you go.

Benny Russell Park – Pace, Florida

benny2-small

Before the sky opened up and let the storms loose, we headed out to Benny Russell Park this morning.  The park itself is easy to find.  There are so many different things for the kids to play with.  The park is kind of set back in the woods so there is lots of shade.  There are several picnic tables where people were set up with their birthday parties.  There are benches throughout the park as well.  There are relatively clean bathrooms that were both open and working while we were there.  One of the things my little guys loved was that so much is made for big kids AND little kids!  I didn’t have to worry about my kids being too adventurous and breaking something!  There are little monkey bars and rings, as well as the Tot Lot.

benny1-small

The Tot Lot is somewhat of a replica of the bigger part of the playground but is sized down for 2-5 year olds.  Overall the park is a great park but my number one complaint is that there isn’t anywhere that you can stand or sit and see the whole park.  I was constantly chasing my kids all over and around blind corners so that I could keep an eye on them.  This is not a park I would choose to take my kids to if I was looking to let them run around while I relaxed on a bench under a tree!  I probably wouldn’t be comfortable taking both of my kids to this park by myself…one too many kids to keep track of at a park like this on my own!  I would definitely bring someone with me to help!  That being said, my kids loved their time at the park and we would visit again!

Places to Have a Kid’s Birthday Party in Pensacola

**See our newest birthday party list updated on January 26, 2011!**

We are celebrating Big S’s birthday in the house this week so in honor of his birthday, I have listed some places where you can have a birthday party around town.  This is in no way a comprehensive list and it is in alphabetical order.  I gathered the list from places we have been and various message boards.  We have had birthday parties at a few of the places and have attended parties at a few of the places.  That being said, there are some on this list that I love, some that were ok, some I haven’t been to and some I might never step in again.  I am not going to give an opinion because that is what it is…merely a list of places you might want to look into if you are throwing a birthday for your child!  If you have something to add to this list, please comment or send me an email and I will add your suggestion to the list.
