Do you know where we took this photo? Pitcher plants are found in many areas around town so I will give you two hints: a) we were in Santa Rosa County and b) we were at a small state park.

We hope you will play along! If you know where this picture might have been taken, leave a comment!

For this week’s Mystery Photo Monday, I am kicking off the Pensacola With Kid’s Summer Road Trip Celebration with a picture from another city. Throughout the summer, I will be posting road trip suggestions from both the readers and PWK’s favorite places to go to get away. Don’t worry…we will continue to write about Pensacola and the surrounding areas. I can’t wait to start exploring with my kids this summer!
Here are a few hints: This fountain is downtown next to a great museum the kids will love; the Superbowl was held here; it is one of the largest cities in Florida.
Have a guess? We hope you will play along! If you know where we will be road tripping this week, leave your guess in the comments. I will give you a Top 10 with kids list for visiting this city later this week. Also this week on Pensacola with Kids, info on Friday Family Flicks, geocaching in Pensacola, and the Pensacola Pelicans!

Frozen strawberries for smoothies this summer, strawberry bread, strawberry muffins, strawberry lime freezes, strawberry sauce, strawberry shortcake…
Last week we went to Andrew’s Sod and Fruit to pick strawberries. Be sure to read to the end of the post to see what you can do with all your strawberries when you get home! Myster Photo Monday #17 was taken here.
We had such a great time wandering up and down the strawberry patch picking and choosing the perfect strawberries. When you arrive at Andrew’s Sod and Fruit, they give you boxes to put your strawberries in and will even give you a ride to the section that is to be picked for that day.

Strawberries are $1.50 a lb. We picked about 14lbs in an hour. They are a bit pricier than what you would pay in the store, but we got to hand pick every strawberry. Usually I bring one of those pints home and throw half of them away because they have gone bad.
Hurry to the farm this week though! The strawberries will only be good for a few more days. Be sure to call ahead of time to make sure that they have strawberries available still before you make the trip out there. Later on this month and next, Andrew’s will also have all sorts of other vegetables and fruit available for U-pick! We will let you know when we head out there!
What to Know Before You Go:
Once you have picked all your strawberries, what should you do with them? Here are some links with recipes that we have used this week. Do you have a favorite strawberry recipe? Leave a comment with the link or recipe!

For Mystery Photo Monday #16, I asked if you knew where this photo was taken:
This beautiful spot is the view from the Sanders Beach-Corinne Jones Community Center park off of Barrancas in Pensacola. Remember a few months ago I told you that one of my goals was to try and visit a new park every week or two? Well, I am so excited to have discovered this spot! There is a great park that Little S loved to play on.
We took a little walk on the boardwalk by the water and sat on a bench to watch the waves crash and the birds fly by.
There are restrooms available inside the community center (which is absolutely gorgeous and booked solid for months!).
There are a ton of activities and classes available here as well. We are about 15-20 minutes away from this park but it was worth the drive.
Things to Know Before You Go:
Sanders Beach-Corinne Jones Community Center is located at 913 S. I Street and the contact number is 850.436.5193
