Little S loved going to the Gulf Breeze FunPlex for their Open Gym Times! We had so much fun and it is perfect for those yucky rainy days we have been having! Full Disclosure: After paying Little S’s admission, I received a free pass for myself. I will be giving this pass away as well.

I will be giving away two Gulf Breeze FunPlex Free Preschool Open Gym Passes to TWO lucky winners. If you would like a chance to win, leave a comment in this post before 9:59pm CST on Friday October 9, 2009 and tell me what your favorite rainy day activity. Don’t worry about being creative in your comment, the winner will be chosen by a random number generator. Please make sure that you fill out the required fields by putting your first name in the name field and your email address in the email address field. I do not share email addresses and you will not receive emails from Pensacola with Kids unless you win.

Gulf Breeze FunPlex

Rarely do I find an activity where Little S will play on her own without feeling the need to run back and forth to me to tell me about what she is doing. I certainly don’t mind, but once in awhile it is nice to see her play on her own. Well, I have found that activity!

The Gulf Breeze FunPlex is a multi-purpose facility that provides gymnastics classes, cheer classes, after school programs, open bounce, open gym and so much more! We attended the Open Gym a few weeks ago and Little S loved it! There all kinds of climbing spots, places to run, and jump. Little S liked the toddler sized gymnastic equipment and I liked it because she could get up to it herself.

And her personal favorite? The foam pit! Man, I wanted to jump in there myself!

Little S ran, jumped and played the whole hour we were there and then took a fantastic nap when we got home! The cost is very reasonable (info taken from the October calendar on FunPlex website):

Preschool Playtime: T, W – 1 hr………………… $8

Preschool Playtime Open Gym: Sat. – 1 hr… $10

Weekdays Open Bounce: 1.5 hrs……………… $10

Saturday / Sunday Open Bounce: 2.0 hrs… $15 – Call for times

Shoreline Park – Gulf Breeze, Florida

Oh my goodness…almost a week since my last post! I have been outside enjoying the cooler weather with my family and I hope you have been to! What is one of my favorite things about fall? The park visits! I have never been an incredibly outdoorsy girl but I have been trying. My husband and kids love to be outside so we go camping, ride bikes, kick the soccer ball around and head to parks. The park visit in the summertime is excruciatingly painful to me. It is miserable hot and just standing under a tree makes me feel like I am going to pass out from heat exhaustion…okay…I am being dramatic. That all changes once the weather gets cooler. We spend many afternoons at the park. As the weather cooled down this past week, we decided to visit a park we haven’t been to yet.

Shoreline Park is located off of Shoreline Drive in Gulf Breeze. You can’t miss it as you drive by! The park has tennis courts, basketball courts, an enclosed skatepark, and several play structures. The play structures are a bit old but they are well kept. The park is right on the street but is surrounded by a wire fence. I think that even if the park got crowded, it is set up in a way that makes it easy to keep an eye on your child. My daughter’s favorite part? Tons of squirrels running around.
