Frugal Friday Tip – eHub Pensacola

If you like to eat out, stop by eHub Pensacola before you leave the house!  I read about eHub a few weeks ago and we decided to give it a try.  When you visit the site, there are several ways to find discounted certificates.  If you go to the Save 50% section, and then select Food Thrift Certificates you will see what is available.  At the time I wrote this, there were 16 restaurants listed including Chik-Fil-A, Capt. Joey Patti’s Seafood, Angus and 3 Sisters.

Purchasing a gift certificate is easy.  You select the certificates that you want to purchase, check out, and receive the instructions via email.  I believe the only pay option is PayPal.  You can still make a purchase even if you don’t have a PayPal account.  Once I had decided on my purchase, I had a hard time finding the Cart/Checkout button…scroll to the bottom of the page and you will find it there!

Once your purchase has been made, you will receive directions on how to print and fill out the certificate properly.  The first certificate I ordered never showed up in my email inbox.  After a day or so, I emailed the sales contact and heard back within an hour.  eHub Pensacola remedied the situation and sent me the certificate information.  Before I wrote about it here, I decided to order a second certificate this afternoon to make sure it worked properly and had no issues.  The certificate and information immediately arrived in my inbox.

I ordered two $10 certificates for $5 each to Chik-Fil-A.  We went through the drive thru tonight and had no issues redeeming the certificate.

Things To Know Before You Go:

  • Be sure to follow all directiuons.  You don’t just print the certificate and go.  There are some steps you need to follow.
  • You will not get change for money leftover on the certificate.  I ended up only using one certificate tonight because my total was $16 and some change.  I decided to save the other certificate so that I am able to redeem it in full.  That is four bucks that I would have been throwing away!

Frugal Friday Tip – Coupon Chix

If you haven’t heard about Coupon Chix you are missing out!  We included her on a list of websites that help you save money awhile back but I wanted to point out her Coupon Chix classes.  She has just listed a new set of class times.  Hop on over to check them out!

Frugal Friday Tip – Buy Theirs, Try Ours Publix

Every few weeks, Publix has a special where they choose three items.  If you purchase the name brand of the item (for example Prego Spaghetti Sauce), then you can get the Publix brand for free.  This week, the three items are Classico Spaghetti Sauce, Ronzoni Bowtie Pasta, and Wishbone Italian Dressing.  Stop by Southern Savers to get more details.  She has great coupon matchups that will help you save even more.

Frugal Friday Tip – is a great way to get cheap restaurant gift certificates.  For example, you can get a $25 certificate for $10 and if you do a coupon blog search you will find coupon codes to make it even cheaper!  Search your zip code to see the deals available.  When I last checked on Wednesday, they had gift certificates to 600 South, Angus, Madison’s, and Coach ‘n’ Four.  When I expanded my search to within 20 miles of my zip code it listed several restaurants in Orange Beach.  Before you purchase a gift certificate, be sure to read the fine print.  Many certificates can not be used for alcohol and you must spend a certain amount to be able to use it.  We have purchased gift certificates from so I can verify that it has worked in the past and is worth the savings.  Happy savings!

Frugal Friday Tip – Free 8×10 Photograph

Frugal Friday – Print Your Coupons Now

A few weeks ago, I talked about how printing coupons from the Internet could help save you some serious money when you go grocery shopping.  Today’s Frugal Friday tip is to go print them now!  It is the beginning of the month which means that the coupons have been reset.  Print them now to insure that you get the maximum amount of coupons.  If you print them later in the month, they may not be available.

Frugal Friday – Rent Movies Without Paying For Them

Rent movies without paying for them!  We stopped renting $5.00 movies a long time ago.  For my birthday last year, a friend gave me a 3 month subscription to Netflix.  We loved it so much that we continued the subscription.  However, when a new movie comes out and we don’t want to wait to be next in line at Netflix we rent from a Redbox or a Blockbuster Kiosk.  Redboxes can be found here and Blockbuster kiosks can be found here.  Be sure to check the web for coupon codes.  There are so many out there that you can rent several movies without having to pay for them!  Just make sure you return it on time or you will have to pay the dollar a day rental fee, which still isn’t that bad!

Check out these sites for coupon codes before you go:

Frugal Friday-Printing Your Coupons

Did you know that you can print coupons online?  There are so many awesome coupons out there ready for you to print!  A couple of things to note:

  • For most coupon sites, you will have to download a coupon printer.  Once you do it the first time, you shouldn’t have to download it again.
  • There are limits set on the number of times you can print a coupon.
  • Do not photocopy your coupons.
  • Most coupons print in color.  Be sure to set your printer to print black and white so that you can save printer ink.

These are some of my favorite printable coupon sites:

Frugal Friday

I don’t know about you, but I am always looking for a bargain!  I have decided to start a new weekly segment called Frugal Friday.  On Friday’s, I will share favorite money saving websites, hints, and thoughts both from me and from fellow readers.  To start off the new segment, I am going to share a couple of my favorite local-ish couponing websites.  Since I have started seriously couponing, I have shaved at least 50 dollars from my weekly grocery bill every week.  I have been able to get food practically for free!  Unbelievable!  I love it when they pull the receipt out of the cash register and say “You saved…”  It is a lot of work but is worth it!

Coupon Chix – This is a local woman so you know that the coupon matchups and newspaper inserts are going to be correct.  Often I follow sites that have information that does not work for Florida stores.  She also teaches coupon classes.

Frugal For You – Another local woman, I love how she shows exactly what she purchased and how much she saved.  She shares her meal plans and links up to great deals!

Southern Savers – This is one of my favorite coupon websites.  There is a shopping list option where you can print a list of all your coupon deals for the week.  There are links to so many coupons!

Eastern Shore Mom – This thrifty mom is from the Eastern Shore, Alabama area.  I love the Catch of the Day and all the great advice on how to coupon.

Bargain Buggy – Also from the Mobile area, this mom has a great category called Peek where you actually get to peek into her grocery cart!  She lists what she bought, coupons she used, and how much she spent!
