What: Story time over the phone; Where: Your house; When: Any time; Cost: FREE
When I was at the library a few weeks ago, I saw a little slip of paper on the desk advertising Touch Tone Tales so we decided to check it out when we got home. Touch Tone Tales is a phone number that you can dial to hear a story. We heard the story of the Klutzy Duckling complete with sound effects last week. There is a new story each week.
The first time I called, we got through on the first try. This was about seven in the evening. I tried to call a few days later and it was busy for about ten minutes. When I tried to call this morning, it took about three minutes to get through. Right now, they are running a story about the Gingerbread Man.
Touch Tone Tales are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week and it is a free service of West Florida Public Library.
Just call 850.595.1219.

My library in Mississippi had this when my oldest (now 18) was little. We loved it. So glad they have it here! Will be sharing this with a friend of mine who has little ones at home. Thanks for posting about it.
The service is having technical error at the moment and so the phone line just rings and rings, I spoke to the library and they are expecting the service to be back up in about 3-5 days. My daughter is 4 and loves calling in and hearing the stories.
Thanks for letting us know, Kelly! I appreciate it!
