From the archives: The Letter F

Every Monday I am reaching back into the archives to share the learning activities that we did last year when Little S was home with me.  Each week, we worked our way through the alphabet and we read stories, did crafts, and played games that helped reinforce the letter we were learning that week.  If you have any additional activities to add to the list, please leave us a comment!

  1. Color the Letter F.
  2. Trace the Letter F.
  3. Make the F Alpha Buddy.

  1. Read The Rainbow Fish by Marcus Pfister Herbert
  2. Craft – Wax Resist Fish (need crayons and watercolors)
  3. Watch Finding Nemo.
  4. Take a trip to the pet store to look at the aquarium.

  1. Read Let’s Go to the Farm (Fisher Price Little People Series) orBerenstain Bears Down on the Farm (I Can Read Book 1 Series).
  2. Talk about the animals on the farm.  Little S LOVES to play with her plastic farm animals so we will get them out today.

  1. Read Frog and Toad are Friends (I Can Read Picture Book Series).

  1. Talk about families of all kinds.  Talk about our family.
  2. Make a family tree with brown and green construction paper.  Cut out apples (circle shapes) to write names of family members on them.  If I am feeling really motivated this week, I will try to get pictures printed off of our family members to glue on the apples.
