Those sweet blueberries are ripe and ready for picking in the Pensacola area! Blueberry picking is such a fun family-friendly activity. Not only is it a reasonably priced activity, but you also get to take home a product for your money spent! I always know when it is time to go blueberry picking again because I have finished up the last few bags of blueberries hidden in the back of the freezer!

One of our favorite blueberry farms is A & N Blueberries in Molino. We love to go here because the owners are so kind, the blueberry bushes are tall enough that you won’t have to bend over to pick but they are also low enough that the children can reach plenty of blueberries for themselves, and the price is right for us at a dollar a pound! I also love that they have other produce for sale like potatoes, squash and corn.
Most blueberry farms provide gallon buckets to use during blueberry picking but you can also bring your own buckets or baskets to use.
Things to Know Before You Go:
- Bring an empty cooler with you. If you plan on picking more than a few pounds of blueberries, you will want an empty cooler to put the berries in. Not only will it keep them cool in the hot sun, but it will also keep the berries off of the ground where ants can find them. It doubles as a good seat for tired children, too!
- Bring a small cooler full of ice, water, drinks of your choice and snacks depending on how long you will be out there.
- Hats and sunscreen will keep you protected out in the hot sun.
- Bubbles or something just as quiet will keep the kids entertained when they are finished picking blueberries but you are not.
- We bring plastic bags to pour the blueberries in if we are still picking but our buckets are full!
- Be sure to bring cash. Some blueberry farms take checks but most are cash only.

For those who live on the southwest side of town near NAS Pensacola- there is Hillcrest Farm in Lillian AL off Hwy 98 well before BJ Farms. It’s $1 a pound, although I haven’t been in a couple years, I’m pretty sure it’s still the same price. She also sells produce from her small garden, honey, homemade jams. Pearadise jam is my favorite! Word of caution- watch for anthills, bring bug spray!
Our favorite place is Beulah Berries. Check out my post and youtube video tour! I love the FREE blueberry tea and you can pick beautiful flowers for free too!
For Milton, Pace, Jay area, Lundy’s on HWY 89 is an excellent place to go. Also $1 per pound.
There is also a place off of Detroit in the Ensley area, heading west off of US 29, on the left hand side, near Cove I think. It is a private home with a white picket fence around it, $1/pound.
