Our favorite rainy day activity is indoor camping. We use my son’s indoor pop-up tent and we gather our flashlights for our camping adventure. We sit in the tent and play games and color in our coloring books. We read books and tell stories next to our pretend campfire. We take our flashlights and search every crack and crevice in the house for bugs ( mommy secretly hopes that we don’t find any). If we can’t find any with our flashlights, then we take our magnifying glasses out of our backpacks and search again. If it is not lightning and thundering outside, then we go out and try to catch water in our canteens.

So far, the rain hasn’t really but a damper on our activities. My personal favorite is the old fashion movie day. If it is a really bad storm, and the power goes out…. I’d try out camping indoors, or maybe build a fort in the living room.

This past weekend, we all had a family day with nothing but rain. We went to the circus, and were safe and sound under the big top.

After a good rain storm, and within reason, I don’t think there is anything wrong with some puddle hopping!

We really like the T. T. Wentworth Museum, or just window shopping somewhere indoors.

My favorite rainy day activity with my 2-yr old son, is hide and seek. Of course that only lasts for so long, then we’ll put on our raincoats and rainboots and head outside! Rainstorms are one of the things I missed when I moved away from Florida. I always get the best sleep during a great Thunderstorm! :)

Our favorite rainy day activity is reading. We grab a bunch of books & head to my daughter’s bed for a reading fest! We also love playing board & card games, so those usually get pulled out as well.

We’re an artistic family so anything art is good for us! Fingerpainting has been a favorite with my 2 1/2 year old daughter lately! Fun fun fun! (especially the clean up!!)

Our favorite rainy day activities include “dance party” where we turn up fun tunes real loud and dance around the living room, and also art projects. If it isn’t stormy, just rain, they usually end up running out in the drops for fun. Then they’re ready to change and snuggle up for a movie.

OUr favorite rainy day activity is staying in our Pj’s and making something FUN for lunch and then watching movies and doing coloring or other “art”stuff… maybe even getting crazy and busting out the playdough.

Or of course we love putting on play clothes and PLAYING IN the rain too!

I just subscribed to blog with Feedburner to my email – I tend to forget to go to my GoogleReader… but I think I’ll do the Google reader too just in case I get back into the groove checking it.
