Every day I hear about a great new place or activity for kids around Pensacola. Every Sunday, we will have Show and Tell! This will give you the chance to share your favorite things to do in Pensacola! If you would like to participate, email your submission to me at jennifer (at) pensacolawithkids (dot) com. Be sure to include links and pictures if you would like! Don’t worry if your favorite place has already been written about…we welcome all submissions. You might be able to teach us something new about a favorite place! Thanks, Christy, for being our first participant! Christy is mom to two boys!
One of my favorite places to take my sons for a fun time is the Pensacola Naval Air Museum. The 300,000 square foot museum is open seven days a week and is also free! There are hands-on planes, helicopters, models of ships, and many other exhibits that span the history of Naval aviation for kids and adults to explore. The museum also has a great collection of aircraft cockpits which kids can climb into and let their imagination run wild. Young and old will enjoy what the museum has to offer.
After exploring the museum, take in an IMAX movie. Our favorite is The Magic of Flight which highlights the Blue Angels Flight Demonstration Squadron. If you plan your trip on the right day, you may even catch the Blue Angels practice show. Another hands-on activity includes two types of flight simulators which are great for older kids and adults. After your day of exploring, don’t forget to grab a souvenir and a snack at the Cubi Bar Café, which has great sandwiches and dessert.
